In tight focus the rowboats weathered blue hull becomes a canvas. The paint is sun softened and peeling, exposing a sea toned back drop. Spreading across it clusters of golden- yellow lichen form curving shapes. Under the lense they seem to surge forward, each irregular patch suggesting the blur of horses mid gallop, as if the tide itself had captured a moment of wild motion on the still wood.
